Shan Guoqiang


Shan, born in Shanghai in February, 1942, graduated from the Department of Art History, Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1965. He is the former director of the Exhibition Department, National Palace Museum and is now the researcher of National Palace Museum. Branded as the Outstanding Expert of the Ministry of Culture, he enjoys special allowance from the Chinese Government. His main research covers the history of ancient calligraphy and painting and appraisal of calligraphies and paintings.He is the postgraduate tutor of the Class of Appraisal of Calligraphies and Paintings, Central Academy of Fine Arts, as well as the appraisal expert of the Economic Channel of CCTV in such programs as “Jianbao” (Treasure Appraisal) and “Xunbao”(Treasure Seeking).omic Channel of CCTV in such programs as “Jianbao” (Treasure Appraisal)and “Xunbao”(Treasure Seeking).
